What's Biting in the Gulf of Mexico
at Panama City Beach, Florida
Updated Sunday April 2nd, 2017
The spanish mackerel are running real good. These fish are fun to catch on light tackle and good on the table. The sheepshead bite has been fairly strong as well. They are tough fighters and are caught right around the pass. Other fish such as mangrove snapper, redfish, and black sea bass are caught as well.
The vermillion snapper and white snapper are here as well. Not as big as red snapper but oh so tasty.
The red snapper season will open on weekends in May.
We are going to try some new things this year. Bay shark fishing trips and night fishing trips as it gets warmer. Also, custom trips are becoming more and more popular. Maybe a few hours fishing, then a little dolphin watching. Maybe being dropped off on Shell Island for a few hours to explore and eat a packed lunch. Maybe a little snorkeling for sand dollars sounds fun.
So just give us a call and lets talk. We strive to make your trip enjoyable whatever you choose to do! Capt. Jeff at 850-527-9730.
